“前奏”很丰
TOSCA “Prelude” fraught with impact
演出前大厅内举行的各种活动，让尚未走进剧场的观众们先感受到了浓厚的艺术气氛。这边，为庆祝东方艺术中心正式运营设计的纪念邮票销售柜台前挤满了观众。一位集邮爱好者在大门口等了一个下午，为的就是想收藏这套纪念邮票。那边，“歌剧角”活动也吸引了不少人，美国弗吉尼亚歌剧院的艺术指导边弹钢琴，边向观众讲解《托斯卡》的欣赏要点，演员还当场作了示范。时间虽然短暂，但还是吸引了不少观众。歌剧院办公室康主任说：“才半个多小时，就有70多位市民填表要求参加歌剧之友俱乐部。”随着东方艺术中心网站开通仪式的举行，首先开演的东方歌剧厅敲响了开场锣。
Opera Corner attracted many people in the lobby to stop by to see the opera coach/conductor Dan Saunders, who comes from America’s Virginia Opera, playing some arias from Tosca and telling the audience about the appreciation points in Tosca. Also Shanghai Opera House let three young singers demonstrate these arias to the listeners beforehand, accompanied by the piano. Although it lasted only fifteen minutes, opera corner still attracted a large number of people.
中场休息时，记者在后台遇见了满头大汗的歌唱家魏松，他非常兴奋地说：“太棒了，这里演歌剧非常合适。在这个舞台上，只要保持正常的力度，就可以获得很好的音响效果。我们可以把更多的注意力投入到表演中。”两周前，作曲家谭盾在纽约大都会歌剧院欣赏了《托斯卡》，昨晚再次观看该剧，心里不由自主地进行着对比。他说：“乐队和演员都非常出色，主要是剧院的欣赏条件很好，不但环境舒适安静，而且音响的分布也非常均匀。”
Two weeks ago, the famous composer Tan Dun saw Tosca at the Met, and this time he involuntarily compared Shanghai’s Tosca with the last one. He said, “the orchestra and the singers are excellent, and the major reason is the wonderful conditions of the Art Center.”

昨晚，最引人瞩目的演出当属上海歌剧院联袂美国弗吉尼亚歌剧院献演的经典歌剧《托斯卡》。大幕一开，即刻将观众带入了意大利古城佛罗伦萨……出自美国舞台设计最高奖项“托尼奖”得主大手笔的舞美和东方歌剧厅国际水准的舞台设施相得益彰。在美国歌剧指挥皮特·马克的棒下，《托斯卡》那优美的旋律、男女主角倾情的演唱更激发出了人们心底沉睡的热情。
Last night in the Oriental Art Center, the greatest concentration and focus was on the Tosca collaboration between Shanghai Opera House and American Virginia Opera. With the curtain going up, the stage scenery at once led the audience into ancient Italy. Under the baton of the famous American conductor Peter Mark, the beautiful melodies flowed out, and with the “heart-and-soul” performances of the singers, all the people in the opera house were totally immersed in a most artistic and fantastic atmosphere.

本报讯 上海歌剧院与美国弗吉尼亚歌剧院联袂打造的经典歌剧《托斯卡》，昨晚在东方艺术中心歌剧厅首演。大幕一拉开，现场观众无不为美国舞台设计最高奖———“托尼奖”获得者的大手笔而鼓掌叫好。整场演出在美国指挥皮特·马克的调动下，让沪上观众领略到歌剧动人旋律和男女主演精湛演唱的默契神韵，而美国人也奇怪，现场来的几乎全都是《托斯卡》专家。
昨晚《托斯卡》的观众非常“专业”，经典唱段和关键段落一出现，现场观众马上就有了反应。观众说，那是得益于上海歌剧院在剧场观众厅开辟的“歌剧角”。为了帮助观众欣赏这部歌剧，歌剧院从《托斯卡》首演起，每场开演前30分钟，在剧场内向观众介绍演出内容、歌剧欣赏要素等。昨晚，《托斯卡》“演前预热”在观众休息厅一隅开讲，吸引了一大批观众。声乐指导丹·桑德斯向观众作剧目介绍和音乐赏析，歌剧院歌唱家则在现场演唱剧中的经典唱段。
Last night, the audience seemed to be very expert on Tosca. The reason was due to the Opera Corner, which started 15 minutes before the formal performance. Dan Saunders, the opera coach/conductor from America’s Virginia Opera, introduced the plot and background of Tosca to the people gathered. From the perspective of a professional musician, he told people how to appreciate and how to enjoy this Tosca. Three young singers from Shanghai Opera House sang some famous arias in Tosca in the opera corner too.
“歌剧角”不仅具有演出前的“暖场”作用，更让高雅的歌剧艺术贴近了普通观众。魏松、迟黎明等还在“歌剧角”为歌迷带来的书籍、唱片签名留念，气氛十分热烈。
The opera corner warmed up the Opera House, and made the opera art closer to the ordinary people. Wei Song and Chi Liming carried their new CDs and books, appearing also in the Corner. Everybody was excited to see them and gathered around them to buy their CDs and books actively!
演出中，“为艺术，为爱情”这一古老的主题，经来自纽约大都会歌剧院女高音歌唱家法比亚娜（图右）的倾情演绎，达到了收放自如的境界。上
During the performance, “Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore” Tosca’s most famous aria was perfectly interpreted by Fabiana Bravo who is on The Met roster. Her wonderful performance carried Tosca to a higher level than any other soprano.
